Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited has announced changes to its Diamond Advantage Program which sees the introduction of a 10 year warranty which presents the longest warranty – in terms of the length of time covered by it – for any company operating in Australia.
While the 10 year period Mitsubishi will now offer beats out the seven years offered by Kia, SsangYong, and MG, there are a few caveats – the main one of which is that while all three of those, along with many other car companies, have no mileage cap on their warranties, Mitsubishi’s is capped to 200,000km.
Furthermore, if you choose not to service your vehicle with a Mitsubishi dealer, you’ll only be covered by a five-year/100,000km warranty, while the batteries in PHEV vehicles will be covered by a separate eight-year/160,000km warranty.

However, the good news is that the 10-year/200,000km covers all Mitsubishi vehicles including the company’s commercial offerings, the Triton ute and Express van, and is available to all private buyers and small businesses with a fleet of up to five vehicles. Genuine Accessories are also covered under the new vehicle warranty as well.
Among other changes to the Diamond Advantage Program, Mitsubishi has also announced a 10-year/150,000km capped price servicing plan for all new models as well, along with four years of complimentary roadside assistance for those who service their cars with a Mitsubishi dealer.
The introduction of the market-leading warranty and other ownership coincides with Mitsubishi celebrating its 40th anniversary of Australian operations, with its first Aussie showrooms having opened on October 1, 1980.
